Robeez sold to Stride Rite

Two of my wife's favorite shoe companies are joining forces, as BC-based Robeez was purchased by US-based Stride Rite. Each of our kids have worn Robeez at one point or another; I think the first pair for our oldest was a pink pair with butterflies on top.

Sandra Wilson founded Stride Rite in her basement in 1994, where she ripped apart a purse to make a pair of shoes that would fit well on her son Robert's feet. Over the next 12 years, the company would grow into a 400 person operation with $15 million in sales per year. It's now a household name in many homes with young children, and the envy of many basement businesses today. :-)

I have 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys and all of them have been in Robeez. I love them to get on and off and they wear extremely well. My oldest son wore one pair for months inside and outside and we still were able to pass them on to my youngest son they were in such good shape! The one thing I have to complain about though, is people's idea of how to pronounce Robeez. They are named after the inventors son, Robert. Ro-bert! Not Row-bert. So it's Ro-beez (like Robert is Robbie or Robbie's shoes!) not Row-beez! So, if we could all get together on this pronounciation, that would be grat, I mean great!
